Yama Restaurant in Lebanon

Growing up, the original (and back to only) Yama was always a favorite. I stopped by while back in town, and it did not disappoint!

The best restaurant in the area! The service is always friendly, professional, and quick. Food is the BEST! Their prices are really reasonable for the quality of food. I always stop when I’m visiting my family in the area. I wish they had a restaurant in Boston :( they’re simply the best! Highly, highly recommend

It certainly stand out as a great value with any of their lunch specials. It is a nice option for a quick takeout or dine in option either for lunch or dinner. The place is small and unassuming but the food seems good at a first take out. I would rate their miso soup a 4/5 but with the Korean on-the-house appetizer, small salad, white rice and a dumpling and two maki pieces to top the main dish the lunch box special is a great deal!

This is really a very good restaurant in the middle of Lebanon. There are many Korean dishes and some Japanese dishes. The place is relatively small and the decor is OK but nothing fancy. The food is pretty good but the price seems to be a bit on the high side. The seafood pancake is good while it's hot. The chicken dish in spicy soup dish I had was OK but not particularly flavorful. The cold bibimbap was OK but curious it was not over rice. Instead, the rice was provided on the side. The service was a bit slow.

One of my very favorite places to eat. Fast & friendly. The edamame is delicious. My favorite roll is the tropical roll & a close second is the yam yam.

Huh... Slow, slow, slow... It take out bag sat on the shelf for ages... And we were waiting right there. They just don't care about service one bit. Food is good but overpriced.

This is best Japanese food we had in the area. The prices are affordable with great service. Go there early if you can. They get pretty busy there during lunch or dinner rush.

Never have I ever been disappointed with their food or service. They are the absolute best around.

I love Yama! It's probably my favorite place to go in the UV for pretty much as genuine as you can get. The food is fresh, prepared to order, and they are always cheerful and have never had a negative experience. Definitely worth checking out if you're just visiting, new in town, or especially if you're craving something different and exciting and you're from this area. I get take out a lot but the dining space is nice and clean. Prices are fair, portions are more than fair.

I'm so glad someone told me about Yama. I ordered the bibimbap with spicy pork and it was so good. For me it was just the right spice level (I like things spicy). I loved the side items they supplied, I ended up eating every last bit of the sides as well as scraping the bowl clean. If I didn't live all the way across the country I would totally become a regular here.

Not too shabby.The little Korean side dishes all tasted the same.The bi bim bap with pork in a hot stone bowl was very tasty.

Would be 5 stars, but went here all the time! Prices went up $2-5 especially on sushi. Really poor customer service from one server. We arrived 45 minutes before closing time & we were ignored when we arrived and finally the lady turns to look at us and says they’re closed. The owner was there and he didn’t even say anything to apologize for the rude service. We loved going here all the time (used to go every Sunday), but I’ve had enough of their wacky service.

Consistently good food at reasonable prices (especially Lunch Menu) with a wide variety of options from Teriyaki to Sushi to Korean.

Sushi specials are all great. I love the Lebanon and Dartmouth rolls, but have tried them all and there isn't one I don't like! Bento boxes are great for lunch, too.

Amazing food, friendly staff. Food always arrives so fast and is always delicious! Big portions, fair prices. Highly recommend the Lebanon Roll. Definitely one of our favorite places to eat!

My husband and I stopped by for lunch since we craving some good Asian food. We were not disappointed. Their bento lunch box special is an amazing deal! I had plenty left overs for a second lunch the next day. The sliced pork in their house made sauce was so delicious. Just the right amount of heat and flavor. Best part was the starter dishes they bring for free, 2 types of bean sprouts, cucumbers slices in a red sauce, and several other vegetables. My wallet also thanked me as it was a really cheap meal for the area!

We were on our way home from Jay Peak and need lunch. Google map gave us several options including Yama. With scores above four points, we decided to give it a try. It reached our expectation. The restaurant was clean, neat and well managed. An old gentleman led us in and we ordered the food with a lady's help. We liked the appetizers, different pickled vegetables. My sons ordered sushis, my husband ordered rice and a dish while I ordered a lunch box with fried tofu, salad and rice. All were neatly presented. My husband said his dish was on the sweet side. My tofu too. Other than that, everything was fine. The dessert, an orange was presented in a cute way. It was a peaceful and delightful experience for us. Not a feeling of rushing by. I would stop by again during my ski trips.

Wonderful Korean/Japanese restaurant. I go there for lunch frequently, and the really well priced food is only exceeded by the great customer service experience they provide. Great food, very reasonably priced.

First time to try this place.. a little bit disappointed with the Bibimbap..there's something lacking from the taste.. Bulgogi was good and their Japanese rolls.

Yama is one of the best hidden gems in the Upper Valley. Great authentic Korean and Japanese cuisine. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. The food is amazing and portions are plentiful. Can't recommend this place enough!

Small little hole in the wall where we went to celebrate my wife getting a new job. I never knew it existed! The food was excellent and the service was great! I also tried my first "sushi" (it was just cucumbers in rice and seaweed 🤣) We'll definitely be back!

Excellent choice for dining during the pandemic. Take out only, masks required for pickup. Staff all wearing masks. Good job Yama! Smart to go take out only. We've always eaten at the restaurant in the past so take out was different but everything stayed warm enough on the trip back to Grantham. Had scallion pancakes, Japchae, Pad Thai and Bibimbab. Hit the spot after eating at home for weeks/months.

The service was good and it was really fast!! The food was wonderful, a little bland, but they gave you enough sides to add some flavor!! I'd definitely go again and recommend this place to others!!

Good sushi? In NH? This place is the best. There is something for everyone. I always get two rolls, the Lebanon and the Winter Hill. They are dipped in tempura batter and flash fried so the outside is hot but the inside is cold. This is West Leb's best kept local secret.

Always delicious! Still finding new sushi rolls to try. If my bank account would afford it my daughter would have us eating there everyday, not to say they are expensive...just can't afford my daughter's appetite for sushi. Always friendly service. Never disappointed.

A nice place to stop for some lunch. The staff is friendly and the food is a decent size portion. They have highchairs available for little ones. I'd come back again to try the other lunch specials.

Such a hidden gem. Very good sushi for very cheap with great service. Haven't tried much of the korean but the banchan (appetizer plates) are a nice addition.

Excellent family run Korean joint. Sushi bar and Japanese yaki noodles. Hearty Korean soups and stews for the winter. Just like omma made back in Seoul.

We visited for takeout during covid pandemic. The fish was good but meager portions. The rice was very dry and bland. I appreciated the kimchi and broccoli sides. Lots of excess plastic packaging.

The place was crowded, but we were seated immediately. The staff was friendly. The sushi was fresh and the food came out fast. The specials at the end of the menu are delicious, and the quality of meat is really good. Scallion pancake appetizer is also delicious. This place is really good, especially compared to the already good Sushiya. I'd highly recommend this place if you're looking for an authentic, delicious Korean meal!
